Georgia Kidney Consultants (GKC) was founded in 2010 by Dr. Rene Mackay and has continued to serve Athens, Georgia and the surrounding areas in both nephrology and internal medicine.
GKC is located at the beautiful Three Sixteen Professional Quarter, located off of SR 316 and the Oconee Connector.
As a convenience to our patients, we have satellite locations in Monroe, Georgia and Eatonton, Georgia. Office visits at these locations can be scheduled through our main office.

Locations: Athens and Watkinsville, Georgia.
Duties: Diagnose and treat patients with kidney diseases, including dialysis, vascular access management, and renal replacement therapy. Will also serve as clinical assistant professor in internal medicine residency program offered by GRU/UGA. As part of daily clinical rounds, will provide on-the-job medical training to medical residents - no classroom instruction.
Minimum requirements: M.D. or foreign equivalent advanced degree plus completion of U.S. medical residency in internal medicine and U.S. nephrology fellowship. Must pass all parts of U.S. Medical Licensing Exam, have active Georgia medical license, and be board eligible or board certified in nephrology. Respond by mail or email.
